Financial Assistance for Veterans
There is no greater honor than serving your country. At R&J Mobility Service, we are proud to help veterans who have served and protected us, and who returned home with a disability that has affected their mobility.
Veterans risk their lives to protect our freedom, and now we want to provide you the freedom of mobility that we all deserve.
If you obtained an injury during active military service, there are resources available if you require specialized mobility equipment. In addition to several Service Connected Programs, disabled veterans may be eligible for up to $49,000 towards the cost of a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
There are two primary programs offering assistance to veterans: the Auto Allowance Grant and Automobile Adaptive Equipment Program.
The Auto Allowance Grant, offered by the Veterans Benefit Administration, provides $20,174 to eligible veterans. The money goes toward the purchase of a wheelchair accessible vehicle, which includes a car, truck or van. To be eligible for financial assistance, you must have been injured — or aggravated an injury — during active service.
The Automobile Adaptive Equipment Program provides training and equipment for veterans to help them safely operate and enter/exit a vehicle. The program also covers any additional equipment needed for wheelchair access or modifications to the inside of the vehicle. The program may be paid more than once.
Finding and receiving grants could make the difference in getting the quality mobility equipment you need. R&J Mobility Service is dedicated to helping you locate the right grants. We also have a mobility consultant who specifically helps veterans. Reach out to our Mobility Experts to learn about, and find, the right equipment and vehicle for you.
